Why a master of ceremonies

On your wedding day, everyone wants a moment of your time. The photographer, the venue, the DJ, an uncle with a question about his speech. Unless there is a master of ceremonies.

  • I

    Calm

Eddy is there, but never in the way. A single wink is enough and it is quietly taken care of.

  • II

    Direction

A timeline with room to breathe, and someone who keeps it on track. Everything on time, without feeling rushed.

  • III

    Experience

A coach breaking down at the church, a sudden thunderstorm: after more than 100 weddings, Eddy solves it before you notice.

What Eddy does for you

The timeline

The day, moment by moment

You mostly notice a good master of ceremonies by what does not go wrong. This is what a wedding day with Eddy looks like.

  1. Weeks before

    Meeting & timeline

You tell Eddy how your day should feel. Together you build a timeline with realistic timing and room for the unexpected, plus a secret signal in case something comes up.

  2. The day before

    One last phone call

Eddy calls you, checks the weather forecast and gives advice, for example if it is going to be a very hot day.

  3. The ceremony

    Everyone in their place

At the church or town hall, everyone is inside on time and knows where to sit. So you can walk in completely at ease.

  4. The reception

    On time, no overflow

Reception at 5 pm? Then you are there at 5 pm. Guests do not arrive too early, receptions do not overlap.

  5. The dinner

    Speeches & surprises

Eddy coordinates the moments with the kitchen and introduces the speakers, so nothing disturbs the food or the atmosphere.

  6. The party

    And you? Enjoy.

Eddy keeps an eye on everything, even when emotions run high. All you have to do is enjoy each other and your guests.

Since 2010, I have been guiding couples on their wedding day. I am there, but never in the way. Everything is planned down to the last detail, and I keep the flow of the day in my hands.

That way your parents, witnesses and friends have nothing to worry about. They are simply guests, and you can enjoy every single moment of your day.

All questions

What does a master of ceremonies do at a wedding?

A master of ceremonies guides the wedding day itself. He keeps the timeline and timing on track, makes sure guests are in the right place on time, coordinates with the venue and suppliers on the day and solves unexpected problems behind the scenes. That way the couple and their family can fully enjoy the day instead of managing it.

What is the difference between a master of ceremonies and a wedding planner?

A wedding planner organises everything from A to Z, such as suppliers and the venue. A master of ceremonies guides the wedding day itself: he keeps it running smoothly and takes away the stress. They often work closely together, and when they click, you have a strong organisation. At Huwelijkssuite, Eddy also gives expert advice on organising the wedding.

Can a friend or family member be the master of ceremonies?

They can, but that person will be working all day instead of being a guest. A professional master of ceremonies knows the timing, has contacts for emergencies and reacts faster when something goes wrong. That way friends and family stay guests, and a friendship stays a friendship.

How much experience does master of ceremonies Eddy Kips have?

Eddy Kips has been a wedding master of ceremonies since 2010 and has guided more than 100 weddings, both in Belgium and abroad. His work has been recognised with an award from House of Weddings.

What if something goes wrong on our wedding day?

Eddy solves it calmly and behind the scenes, so you never notice. He once made sure a coach that broke down on arrival at the church was ready to go again after the service, and during a sudden thunderstorm he moved the programme indoors just in time, together with the venue and the chef.

When should we book a master of ceremonies?

As soon as your wedding date and venue are fixed. Popular dates, especially Saturdays in spring and summer, book up quickly. The sooner you get in touch, the more time there is to build a tailored timeline together.
